Goals of the International Youth Summit

plantThe International Youth Summit 2008 “Go 4 BioDiv” promoted dialogue with the younger generation about their future and their needs. It offered them a platform and effective resources to convey their messages to delegates and the public. It gave young adults from industrialised and developing countries alike an opportunity to build up their intercultural understanding and to strengthen their partnerships.

Akagera Working together helped the participants to clarify their various responsibilities and identify a shared way forwards. This went hand in hand with the acceptance of personal responsibility. In the long term, the Summit aims to promote sustained networking among young people committed to the conservation of biodiversity.
